About 40 per cent, 20.6m ha, of Spain’s land is suitable for cultivation. Of this, only 5m ha is devoted to permanent crops such as crops and orchards. Agricultural output is €40.6m, of which 60% is attributable to crops.

Spain is the EU’s fourth-largest cereals producer, accounting for over 8% of the EU’s output. The vast majority of the EU’s citrus output comes from Spain.
